This policy describes what the site actually does today, based on its real code and data flows. It isn't legal advice — have it reviewed by someone who handles legal/compliance for the business before you rely on it.
The Cozy Game Hub ("we," "us," "our") operates thecozygameshub.com, including the game directory, the Komorebi blog, and any account features. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits the site, whether or not you create an account.
Account information. If you sign in with Google, we (via Supabase Auth) receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We use this to create your account and show who's signed in — we never see or store your Google password.
Game library data. If you save a game to your collection or wishlist, we store that choice (which game, which status) tied to your account so it's there next time you visit.
Newsletter signup. If you check the consent box and submit the newsletter form, we store your email address and the time you consented. We only do this if you opt in — the box is unchecked by default. As of this writing, no email marketing tool is connected yet, so no emails are actually sent to subscribers; your address is simply held until we set that up.
Game suggestions. If you use "Suggest a Game," we store the game title and any link, reason, and email address you choose to include, so we can review the suggestion and optionally thank you. The email field is optional.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use Google Tag Manager to manage tags on the site, and Cookiebot to ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set. See "Cookies" below.
Basic usage data. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and reliability purposes.
We do not sell your personal information.
We use Google Tag Manager to load tags (such as analytics) in a controlled way, and Cookiebot to manage cookie consent. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you choose which categories of cookies to allow — strictly necessary cookies are always on (the site can't function without them, e.g. staying signed in), while anything else (analytics, marketing) only runs if you say yes. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner.
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (newsletter signup, non-essential cookies), contractual necessity (running your account and game library), and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting anything you did before that.
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
Directory listings may in the future include affiliate links to game storefronts. We haven't confirmed an affiliate program yet — when we do, this section will be updated with the specific network and how it uses cookies/tracking.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the site, our users, or others.
Account and game library data is kept while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after you delete it (to complete the deletion and for backups). Newsletter emails are kept until you ask us to remove them. Game suggestions are kept while we review them and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
These rights are modeled on frameworks including the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA, and we aim to honor them for all visitors regardless of location. You can delete your saved games yourself from your account at any time. For anything else, contact us (below).
The Cozy Game Hub is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Our service providers (Supabase, Google) may process and store data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on those providers' own safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including database access rules that ensure your account and game library are only readable by you. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
We'll update the "last updated" date above whenever this policy changes, and post the revised version here.
